Birthday lunch @bonekettle with spicy papaya salad, fried cauliflower and their famous bone broth with oxtail. The broth takes 36 hours to make, with onions, garlic, ginger and spices and is perfect on a cold winter’s day. The oxtail was huge and in retrospect maybe we should have split one bowl instead of each ordering our own. When I heard @somisomiicecream was opening their Sawtelle store this weekend, I had to get my ahboong fix, even though it’s cold and rainy outside. Love getting their freshly made taiyaki with a filling and soft serve. Got mine with taro filling and Ube/sesame swirl, topped with Oreo crumbs. (If order your ahboong upside down, there’s less risk of soft serve dripping on your clothes.)
