If you’re looking for a sushi at a good price, Wadatsumi in Rancho Park is your answer. This Japanese restaurant, located next to the Westside Pavilion (where the Landmark Theatres are), offers $12.95 set meals, a remarkably cheap price for sushi on the westside.
You’d think with pricing so cheap, the place would be a hole-in-the-wall. Instead, you’ll find a clean, tastefully decorated contemporary interior.
For $12.95, you can choose the sushi, sashimi or grilled ribeye steak combo. The combos come with grilled fish, salad, miso soup and pickled veggies. If you choose sashimi or the steak, you’ll get rice (all-you-can-eat), as well.

The assorted sushi combo came with 7 pieces of sushi, and a spicy tuna roll.

At that price point, the fish was better than what you would get at the Kura Revolving Sushi Bar (which is around the same cost) and a much better deal for the amount of food.
The assorted sashimi combo was even a better bang-for-the-buckl, with a generous serving of fish for the same $12.95.

Wadatsumi also has rice bowls starting at $9.95 or sushi, sashimi and appetizers which can be ordered a la carte.
For a reasonably priced sushi meal, Wadatsumi is hard to beat. Unless you enjoy the novelty of choosing your sushi from a conveyer belt, you’re better off at Wadatsumi where you’ll get a civilized dining experience with superior quality food for the same money.
