B-Bee Crepe & Boba recently opened a couple of weeks ago in the Mitsuwa Marketplace on Centinela. As its name would suggest, B-Bee serves Japanese-style crepes and boba drinks.
Since they are new, they were still ironing out the kinks. The cashier was not quite up-to-speed, but the wait time gave us an opportunity to review the pretty substantial menu with 35 crepes, with additional add-on options. Prices for the set crepes range in price from $3.75 to $6.95.
Crepes are made to order and then assembled with your chosen fillings. Because the batter does not have butter (like French crepes do), it’s a thinner, lighter crepe. If you choose one with ice cream, you get a choice of several different flavors, including matcha and black sesame.
We got one chocolate whipped cream ice cream and one banana whipped cream with a Nutella add-on.

My daughter loved her chocolate whipped cream with vanilla ice cream. It did get a little messy towards the end, when the ice cream started melting and dripped down her arm.
Luckily mine had no ice cream, so my arm escaped unscathed. The amount of Nutella placed on my crepe was a little on the light side. The vast majority of the crepe was Nutella-free, which was slightly disappointing.
Since fillings were on the restrained side, I could eat my crepe neatly, without worrying about ingredients falling out onto the floor.

Even though they’re messier, getting the crepe with a scoop of ice cream is probably the way to go, since you’ll get more flavor added to your crepe than the faintest bit of chocolate sauce (or whatever sauce/topping you choose).
If boba is more your style, B-Bee has a selection of different flavors, which can be customized with your desired sweetness level. In our family, we’ll always choose crepes over boba, and B-Bee Crepes may just start being the way we end our lunches at the Mitsuwa food court.
