If you do a search for the best food at Disneyland, you’ll find the Plaza Inn’s fried chicken on that list. Having never experienced their fried chicken, I decided to indulge on a recent visit.
The Plaza Inn is a cafeteria-style restaurant – grab a tray and go to the appropriate station for your food. Entrees are on the perimeter, with salads and desserts in the middle.
Amongst the entrees offered is a fish of the day, along with pot roast, fried chicken, pastas and Cobb Salad. My husband’s salmon came topped with a mango salsa, green beans and rice.
The generous fried chicken meal gives you three pieces of fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, biscuit and gravy, if you want it. The fried chicken was simply seasoned and juicy – even the breast meat was moist.
The sides were good too. Of course, I enjoyed the carbs, the biscuit and mashed potatoes, more than the green beans. Even though I swore that I would save a piece of fried chicken to take home, I somehow managed to finish my entire plate of food.
The food at the Plaza Inn is a little on the pricey side, but as an added bonus at night, you can sit at one of the tables outside and watch the Main Street Electrical Parade. It’s a much more comfortable way to view the parade (even though you may not be able to see some of the lower ones).
Since we weren’t sure if we would get kicked out from our table, we got a couple of coffees and dessert (carrot cake) as well. I needn’t have worried though, as the staff allowed everyone to enjoy their tables. It was a civilized way to watch the parade, and the perfect end our very long day at Disneyland.
